PPS’s ‘Placemaking: Making it Happen’ Training is an intensive two and a half day course that builds on participants’ knowledge of Placemaking concepts and provides the tools to implement and manage Placemaking projects. Speakers include individuals who have direct, hands on experience in Placemaking across the country and many of the presentations will focus on recent success stories. The course will begin with an overview of Placemaking theories and methodologies, a description and interactive activity of Placemaking tools and techniques, and multiple presentations to provide participants with creative ideas for implementation and management of their placemaking projects.
Key issues that will be discussed in the ‘Placemaking: Making it Happen’ training include: Placemaking and agendas for transforming cities; Lighter, Quicker, Cheaper; key elements to public space implementation and management; tools and techniques to evaluate your public spaces; and architecture of place.
‘Placemaking: Making it Happen’ is geared toward professionals and students who have an understanding of Placemaking and are currently working on Placemaking projects either personally or professionally. The training presents an incredible opportunity to learn from professionals and network with other Placemakers. We encourage teams of professionals embarking on a new project to register as a group to maximize their collective impact on the implementation and management of Placemaking projects.
