Event description

Description

FutureHeights invites residents to attend a free public forum, Placemaking: How to Create a Front Porch Culture, on Tuesday, July 17, 7–8:30 p.m., at The BottleHouse Brewing Company, 2050 Lee Road.

Speakers will tell their stories on how they've built community to create a 'front porch culture', in unlikely places, as well as on front porches. Cleveland Heights has a long history of civic engagement and values community-building. Sometimes these strong connections happen as a result of the design of the built envrionment, and other times it is created in ways that challenges dominant narratives. Come listen, learn, discuss, and find inspiration from the stories of Cleveland Heights residents.

The diversity and civic mindedness of the residents of Cleveland Heights is major asset. What creative and non-traditional ways are neighbors connecting and building resilience? How can the community build on its assets to make it a more desirable place and community to live?
