Join Pitt County 4-H this summer for in-person camps and programs!

Pitt County 4-H is excited to offer a hands-on camp series with face-to-face opportunities for youth ages 5-12 this summer!

About this Event

Join us for our Summer Fun 2021 day camp series where we offer face-to-face opportunities for youth ages 5-12 to actively create lasting summer memories through engaging fun and hands-on activities.

Additional information:

-The location of the camps will be listed on the ticket. All the camps will take place in Pitt County.

-Youth must be enrolled in 4-H Online as a "club member" to sign up (Link to 4-H Online 2.0: https://v2.4honline.com/). Please select "Summer Camp/Program Participant" to complete your registration. If the health form is not filled out - your registration will not be complete.

-Parent/guardian must complete the 4-H Return to F2F Training for youth before their family can attend a 4-H summer camp. This will ensure everyone is aware of our new policies before they arrive at camp! You can view the video here: https://forms.gle/sw9eCuk4F9KjcX6E9.

-Each camper must bring their own lunch, water bottle, snack, or sunscreen as needed for camp.

-Masks will be required.

-Social distancing and other COVID-19 safety precautions will be followed.

- Youth must be the age listed by the time of camp date.

- Due to covid restrictions, family members will not be allowed to stay and observe camp.

Camps and Programs:

Cloverbuds: Ages: 5-7

July 27 - Slimy STEM Camp: The Slimy STEM Camp, involves fun, hands-on activities that teach basic science principles. We’ll explore slimy, gooey, gross science while we conduct all kinds of icky, sticky experiments! Get ready to be playing in some slimy, yucky science fun.

August 3 - Farm Animal Adventure: Come spend the morning with us as we learn all about farm animals! Participants will have live animal interactions and hands-on activities to introduce them to what it means to live on a farm.

Junior Campers: Ages 8-12

June 7-11 - Goat Camp - Ages 8-12:In this 5-day camp youth will learn the fundamentals of feeding, nutrition, health, facilities, washing, and showmanship of goats! At the end of the week, youth will show off their new skills in the show ring at our annual goat and lamb camp show!

June 7-11 - Lamb Camp - Ages 8-12: In this 5-day camp youth will learn the fundamentals of feeding, nutrition, health, facilities, washing, and showmanship of lambs! At the end of the week, youth will show off their new skills in the show ring at our annual goat and lamb camp show!

* Due to COVID restrictions youth will not be allowed to register for both sessions of Goat and Lamb camp this year. Please only choose one session.

July 13 - Floral Arrangement - Ages 8-12: In this half-day camp youth will learn how to build their very own seasonal creation. We’ll take you from start to finish, covering where to begin, supplies you will need, how to select the best flowers to create a beautiful arrangement!

July 20- Fishing Camp - Ages 8-12: Spend the day learning to fish in the interactive and hands-on camp! Youth will meet Extension Staff at River Park North Park to learn all the basics of making a great catch!

August 17&18 - BBQ Bootcamp - Age 10-12: As a North Carolina Cooperative Extension Program, BBQ Bootcamp is an evidence-based, interactive youth program designed to promote food science, food safety, meat science, and food preparation in a way to make youth confident about practicing these skills. Youth will learn, BBQ Meat Science 101, new Cooking Methods, food safety, nutrition, meat cut selection, and how to prepare great food!

Residential 4-H Camp Opportunity!

Are you ready to get out of town?

North Carolina 4-H has overnight camp opportunities for youth ages 8-12 that include fishing, canoeing, swimming, arts and crafts, and horseback riding!

Pitt and Greene County 4-H have spaces available for overnight 4-H camp at Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Center in Reidsville June 27-July 2 for youth ages 8-12. Your week at camp includes lodging, meals, camp store money for breaks, a camp t-shirt, horseback riding, swimming, canoeing, fishing, arts and crafts, and more. Spaces are limited.

Pick up and drop off for both counties will be at the Pitt County 4-H Office.
