Description:
Students will learn safe gun handling, range etiquette and basic marksmanship. No prior training needed. This workshop will set the foundation for new gun owners and enhance the skills for others who have had some prior training. Every student will leave with an individual understanding of how to safely handle and shoot their handgun. Students will be given tools and exercises to practice these skills on their own.
Subjects discussed and exercises:
- Gun safety rules
- Muzzle awareness.
- Range safety
- Range etiquette
- Grip, Stance, and how it relates to making effective hits.
- Trigger Discipline and why it matters.
- How to press the trigger without disrupting sights.
- Aiming; sight picture and sight alignment and how they correlate.
Pre-requisite:
This class is designed for the new gun owner. Specifically semi-auto pistols.
Students must display safe gun handling and muzzle awareness to participate in Live Fire. You will need eye and ear protection. You’re handgun and at least 50 rounds.
