Description

Do You Want Fresh Air in Your Building?

Join us at the AIA New York l Center for Architecture for an inspiring evening with international pioneers of natural and mixed-mode ventilation, as we explore two north eastern case studies, HouseZero at Harvard University and Morgan Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.

Experience what is meant by Fresh Air. Fresh People. as the speakers touch upon the benefits of natural ventilation, design considerations, areas of application, post-occupancy feedback, as well as explore the latest approaches and advantages to natural ventilation.

HouseZero:

The Harvard Center for Green Buildings and Cities (CGBC) retrofitted its headquarters in 2017, a pre-1940s house in Cambridge, MA, into a first-of-its-kind test case to demonstrate unprecedented levels of building efficiency and promote substantial shifts in the design and operation of existing buildings. Dubbed “HouseZero”, the project aims to prove that ultra-efficient retrofits can, indeed, be achieved and replicated by coupling current technologies with better design.

Morgan Avenue:

The Morgan Avenue site is currently under construction and will be a private event space and botanical garden that features 10,000 square feet of interior and exterior space equipped with flexible accommodations for hosting special events. The construction is a result of years of study and development with a team of architects, engineers, gardeners, and informed environmental specialists.
