Event description

Description

To describe Tartine co-founder, James Beard Award-winning pastry chef, and creator of THAT morning bun Elisabeth Prueitt as detail-oriented would be an understatement. With each perfect génoise, concha, and boule she pulls out of the oven, Liz continually reminds us: the devil’s food cake is in the details. (If you don’t believe us, ask Alice Waters — she used to get her family birthday cakes from Liz!)

With locations in the Bay Area, LA, and Seoul, Tartine’s knack for transforming bakery standbys “from something good to something exceptional” has made the humble NorCal bakery a global household name. That same spirit is reflected in Tartine: A Classic Revisited, Liz’s latest cookbook exploring the recipes and techniques propelling Tartine toward excellence. Whether through superlative ingredients or intuitive technique, Liz’s book is on an unwavering pursuit of sweet, sweet perfection.

Join pineapple SF at Dandelion Chocolate’s new factory for an intimate conversation between Liz Prueitt and Ellen Fort, Food Editor of Sunset Magazine, to celebrate (and sample!) Liz's beautiful new book. Liz will share how her meticulous craftsmanship refines beloved classics — all the while innovating on baking boundaries. We’ll nibble on bites from Noosh, courtesy of the Caviar x pineapple womxn-powered collection and sip on wines from Sophie James Winery. Copies of Tartine: A Classic Revisited will be available for sale thanks to our friends at Black Bird Bookstore at 20% off retail price.
