Pimp your Jubula!
Event Information
Description
Eclipse Con Europe 2011 –
Jubula Competition
Eclipse is celebrating 10 successful years, and Jubula is celebrating its first Eclipse release – both excellent reasons to organize a community competition!
“Pimp your Jubula”
We are looking for the best example of an integration, an extension, or an add-on for Jubula. Maybe you’ve been wondering how Jubula could interact with your (favourite) project or technology, or you think there is a niche for a Jubula App. Perhaps you have an innovative idea about integrating Jubula into a larger tool chain or making your application more testable with Jubula. Whatever your idea is – we want to see it!
Participant details
The competition is open to anyone who will be attending Eclipse Con Europe and is therefore able to present their work during an evening BOF on the 3rd November to a crowd of voters. Each participant must register in advance. Registration opens on 1st September and closes on the 2nd November at 5pm.
Presentation format
Each participant will have 5 minutes to convince the crowd that their innovation is the best, based on a demonstration of their work. We’re not looking for shiny, release-ready developments, rather for prototypes and proofs of concept that show how your idea could be used. A short introduction explaining the problem your idea should solve will probably get everybody thinking in the right direction as well. As a hint – the wow factor is usually better if you demonstrate the results of your implementation as opposed to the code itself :)
Voting
The winner will be determined by a community vote. Every participant in the competition receives three voting slips to vote for their favourite candidates (not themselves ;) ). Spectators receive one voting slip to cast. The votes for each candidate will be counted and the winner will be announced in the closing session at Eclipse Con Europe.
Prizes
The winner of the community vote will receive an AR.Drone. The Eclipse Foundation is kindly sponsoring Eclipse swag as second and third prizes. In addition, BREDEX will award a prize in each of the categories:
- Most want-to-have feature in a future version
- Excellent idea, if only the demo had worked
