"Pieta Brown is a major talent...Her artistry combines folk, country, and dusky swamp in a graceful, supple, and elegant genre of their own." ~ American Songwriter
Righteous Babe Recording artist and indie folk songstress, hailed as a "self-styled poetess, folk goddess and country waif", has been recognized by NPR for her "moody, ethereal" songwriting and applauded by The Boston Globe for her "mercurial voice”, joins us for the release of her new album.
Brown has gained wide-spread critical attention for both her singing and songwriting. The Wall Street Journal and American Songwriter, and Amazon have included her albums in year-end, ‘best-of’ picks. So far in her career, she has shared stages with icons like Emmylou Harris and JJ Cale to Neko Case and Richard Thompson. Fiercely independent, she has received praise and support from many of her fellow artists and mentors - Justin Vernon, Iris Dement, Mark Knopfler, Amos Lee, producer Don Was, and film-maker Wim Wenders.
