Piedmont Tech Social - March (Epic Pi Day)
Event Information
Description
In honor of the upcoming once-every-100-years Epic Pi Day (3.14.15 9:26:53 / date and time correspond to the first ten digits of pi), we will have fun pi-related activities.
The day was originally created by the Exploratorium, and later declared National Pi Day by the US House of Representatives, as an initiative to spark interest in learning via the much beloved and humorous mathematical constant, pi. This accessible approach has been adopted by educators, as well as the public, and we will share a variety of sensory engaging activities.
Our featured speaker is Noelle Filippenko, Pi-edmont resident and promoter of National Pi Day, will be sharing how to celebrate this amazing event with your children.
Similar to previous Tech Socials, the event will include social time, pi-zza dinner, a short TEDx-like talk, and self-organizing pods with topics such as Minecraft, board games, wearables, and any other topics you would like to share!
