    Pie & AI is a series of DeepLearning.AI meetups independently hosted by community groups. This event is hosted by The Akili Foundation. Special thanks to their support!

    If you are in Accra, this event will help in by clarifying how AI and automation are reshaping future jobs and education, enabling you to make informed decisions for higher education and career paths

    Event Agenda & Speakers:

    1. Arrival & Welcome (10 minutes)• Doors Open, Mingling, and "Pie & AI" Biteso Goal: Create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere.o Activity: Light background music, attendees can grab a pastry and drink. Event facilitators greet attendees.• Official Welcome & Introductiono Goal: Set the stage and excite attendees.o Activity: Enthusiastic MC welcomes everyone, introduces the theme and topic, and briefly outlines the session's flow. Quick icebreaker: "Raise your hand if you've used a voice assistant today!"2. Understanding the Shift (25 minutes)• "AI in Action: What It Means for Your Future."o Goal: Demystify AI and automation with local context, and illustrate its impact on jobs.o Activity: A dynamic Ghanaian tech expert or young professional delivers a concise, engaging talk. Simplified explanation of AI/automation with Ghanaian examples (e.g., how AI helps mPharma manage pharmacies or AgroCenta optimize farming). Discuss which types of jobs are changing (automation of routine tasks) versus jobs that are being enhanced or newly created (requiring human skills like creativity, problem-solving, emotional intelligence). Focus on how AI augments human capability rather than just replacing it.• Interactive Q&A / Poll: "Your Career in 2035!"o Goal: Engage the audience and directly address their initial thoughts/concerns.o Activity: MC facilitates a brief, interactive Q&A session with the keynote speaker. This could be coupled with a simple poll (e.g., show of hands, or via Mentimeter if tech allows) asking questions like: "Which job do you think AI will do best?" or "Which skill do you think will be most important in 10 years?"3. Navigating Your Future (20 minutes)• 5:35 PM - 5:50 PM: Panel Discussion: "Smart Choices: Study Paths for Tomorrow's Jobs."o Goal: Connect the changing job market to education choices at university/TVET level.o Panelists (2-3): University Academic (e.g., from CS or Engineering, or someone familiar with curriculum innovation like IPMC). TVET representative (e.g., from Accra Technical University). Career Guidance Counselor (e.g., from Future Careers Ghana).o Discussion Points (MC-led): "How are university/TVET programs adapting to AI?" "What are the most 'future-proof' skills students should focus on developing, regardless of their major?" (emphasize critical thinking, creativity, digital literacy). "Are there specific local opportunities or programs JHS leavers should explore now?" "What's the one piece of advice you'd give them about choosing their next step?"• Call to Action & Resources.o Goal: Provide concrete next steps and useful resources.o Activity: MC briefly summarizes key takeaways.
