as we debut our newest music series 

Piano in the White House


This four-part evening concert series performed by

notable contemporary artists will feature music played in the White House

by celebrated musicians, written by gifted composers,

and performed at historically significant events.


Hear the music of Duke Ellington, Dave Brubek, Herbie Hancock and more, played on the Decatur House's newly restored

Each performance will feature a different musician, a brief historical anecdote on the music selection and its place inWhite House history,

and conclude with a reception


Enjoy and learn how the music played for presidents, first ladies, and distinguished guests has shaped the diplomatic history of the United States

March 6, 2014 & April 3, 2014
