What's in the name phyto-Nola?
phyto- the Greek word for plant and the base of the word phytonutrients. Phytonutrients are the immune systems of fruits and vegetables. They make up the natural compounds in plants that protect them from germs, pests, and other environmental threats and toxins. When ingested, these properties transfer to the human body and protects it from diseases, infections, and anything that potentially causes any "dis-ease" in the mind or body.
NOLA- New Orleans, La; well she doesn't need much of an explanation, but if you insist. Nola, like fruits and vegetables, is a place that gives life to all whom encounter her. Traditional Nola cuisine has been the pulse of this amazing city for years sustaining life to all, whether in times of hurt or celebration. She, our city, is hurting. We are hurting. The world is hurting. We must start with self. Let's fuel our temples with nature's immunity and watch its healing have a ripple effect. Nola, may her life-giving legacy live on through each of us.
What makes a phyto-Nola dinner different from your average dining experience?
phyto-Nola provides not only a unique vegan dining experience, but welcomes all healing artists including health and fitness gurus, mindfulness facilitators, yogis, musicians, and visual artists to join in on their events. Artists can promote and/or sell their services/products in the same space. A limited number of artists will be approved to vend at each event so be sure to sign up quickly. If you are an interested artist, leave a brief description of your art modality in the notes section during checkout. There is no additional fee to be a featured artist.
