Dell Children's Third Bed Tower Project
Our story of pediatric care in Central Texas began in the early 1980s when the pediatric medical community recognized the critical need for a single hospital dedicated to the care of children in our region. The vision of the founding physicians came to life when Children’s Hospital of Austin opened on February 14, 1988. But the story did not end there. To meet the crucial demands of the fastest growing region in the country, a new, larger children’s hospital opened on June 30, 2007 – Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas.
Once again, we are turning the page to a new chapter as we celebrate the completion of Dell Children’s third bed tower. Two years earlier than planned, the new tower not only increases bed capacity, but also features the region’s only pediatric Inpatient Rehab Unit and the expansion of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program.
You are an important part of the story that is unfolding in pediatric care.
Please join us for this special sneak preview of the new bed tower and stay for a community celebration in the Healing Garden, which will feature concerts by The Biscuit Brothers and Joe McDermott.
