Program:

The Art of Storytelling Portraits

Storytelling imagery is about understanding your subject’s journey and finding a creative way to visually interpret it. This presentation is about understanding this kind of visual story and capturing who your subject is and not necessarily what they look like. The discussion will include how to style the image, coming up with concepts, storyboarding, scouting locations and using a small studio.

Allow yourself to think differently by creating unique portraits. For those who are in Business or starting a Business, this is the kind of image that becomes a Wall Portrait. For those who have a passion for photography, (not in Business) but want to create a portfolio of Fine Art Photography, this is a good place to start

Capturing Movement

Capturing Movement in your imagery brings excitement and passion to your work. Whether you photograph, animals, birds, sports, weddings or in my case Dance, primarily Ballet, movement, along with light and composition are the elements that draw the viewer to your work and holds their attention. There are several ways to create movement in your imagery and the presentation will cover many of those. They include use of camera movement, strobes, constant light, natural light and a slow shutter.

After Capture – The Art of Blending images together in Photoshop

This is an introduction to the art of blending images in Photoshop. The presentation will take you step by step as Judy blends textures and graphics into her images.

This presentation will explain in very easy terms how to create these unique looking images by adding your own textures or 3rd party textures. Understanding how to use Layers, Blending Modes, Free Transform, Layer masks, and Brushes as it pertains to Blending is all included in this presentation.

Judy's Biography

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Judy moved to Los Angeles when she was 4 years old. In high school she became passionate about photography and considered becoming a professional portrait photographer. Upon graduation though, she decided to pursue a degree in Speech Communications and would wait almost 20 years to start her own Photography business.

Today, after creating a successful business in photography for over 25 years, Judy has redefined the portrait photography world with her unique talent for capturing the heart and spirit of each individual she photographs and has earned her the respect and recognition of her colleagues. Her photography has been internationally recognized for its innovative style and technique. Recently her work was selected for exhibition in the Valade Family Gallery in Detroit, MI, the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, CA and the Albrecht-Kemper Art Museum in MO. In March 2017, Judy sold her first collection of Ballet images to MGM Resort Int’l for a permanent installation at the Park Theater Monte Carlo Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. Her collection is the only artwork in the entire building.

In addition, her work has been selected for national exhibition by the Professional Photographers of America, (PPA) from whom she has received the coveted Master of Photography and Craftsman degrees. Among Judy’s awards for outstanding environmental portrait photography, she has earned multiple Kodak Gallery Awards, an award given to those photographers who excel in creativity and the pursuit of excellence in quality.
