Event description

Description

Spring is here! Bring your camera (or your phone) and capture the emergent beauty of Red Salmon Creek. Special guest Meredith Rafferty, president of the Olympia Camera Club and a Nisqually Land Trust Site Steward, will guide the walk and share photography tips and insights about the property and our restoration activities.

Protection of Red Salmon Creek began in 2001 with the acquisition of the McBride and Magee properties—lands that had been converted for farming several generations ago. Since then, the Nisqually Land Trust’s Red Salmon Creek Management Unit has grown to 40 acres of coastal stream habitat. Restoration of these lands helps protect the headwaters of Red Salmon Slough, a portion of which has been transferred to the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge.
