Description
Hi. My name is Patrick and I am a local photographer and web developer.
I was first inspired to get more into photography when I saw an exhibit at Moma, NY by Jo Ann Verburg when I was in high school. Since then I've carried a camera with me everyday, and photography has brought nothing but joy to my life.
My photos have been featured on CNN, Mashable, Petapixel, Food Network Magazine, Texas Monthly, Austin Monthly, and several other publications and news outlets.
I used to hold the top post on reddit.com/r/austin, now the post is 3rd :/

->This class covers the basics of using a camera and how to start looking for inspiration in everyday life.
It's perfect for anyone who has a camera with a Manual mode(the M on the top dial or menu). Even most compact cameras have this mode now days.
If you've been using the green rectangle or "auto" mode, it's time to take full control over your camera in order to convey the emotions that you felt towards a particular scene.
This class will cover:
- Anatomy of a camera
- How those parts relate to the various modes of your camera
- How exposure works
- How to convey depth and focus in photos
- How to convey motion and movement in photos
- Composition
- Importance of post processing (Photoshop / Lightroom)
- How to begin to replicate your favorite photographers
- Differences between gear, and what to get for specific types of photography
You can purchase tickets to both here on either page, or individually. If you choose to buy them together, you will recieve a small discount.
Some feedback:
"If you own a DSLR and want to take pictures like the ones you always fave on Flickr, or just know what all those settings do and how to use them, Patrick is your guy. His class will have you taking better pictures in an afternoon." -Hans Yeakel, Lead Operations / Sales @Appsumo
"In just the couple of days since class, I'm already seeing the world differently -- spotting subjects or scenes and how I can capture them in a photograph. "Let's try this angel. Let's stand from the back. The side. Hold the camera lower. Higher. What different settings I can use? ISO. Aperture. Focus. EXIF. Shutter Speed. DOF." -Amelia Isabel
Please take a look at my photos and see if you would like to come.
