Photo Editing Basics, Part I
Event Information
Description
So, you're getting pretty comfortable taking photos, but now you want to be able to work with those photos and make them look their best to show them off. But, you just don't know how to get from the image files straight out of the camera to those same files edited so they really pop and are ready to print or show off online.
For this intro class, we will focus on workflow and editing basics, beginning with out photo files as downloaded from the camera. We will also address best practices for working with files to include culling through the images from your shoot, what file formats for what purposes, and backing up your files. As for editing, wewill go over basic editing, both to individual files and batches of files, to make your images pop. We will end this class with a demonstration of finishing touches that will be covered in much greater detail in the Editing Basics, Part II class.
Experience Level: Beginner
Prerequisites: None
Gear/Materials Needed: Highly recommended but not required, having a laptop with both Adobe Bridge and Photoshop (instruction will be with current version of CC) loaded and current is very helpful if you like following along. Otherwise, be ready to take detailed notes!
You can download a free 7-day trial of both programs. It is recommended that if you are going to do so, do it only a few days before the class so you have time to complete the installation on your laptop to include any updates and then have a few days after the class to work with it more with what you learned in class.
Additional Important Info: Free parking.
