Phoenix Fest is back on Saturday October 1, 2016 from 9 am to 6 pm for its 15th year as Durham NC’s funkiest street music festival to celebrate the cultural legacy of the historic Hayti community and to deliver a fun-filled day of family-friendly entertainment for thousands on historic Fayetteville Street.
Fayetteville Street will be transformed into a bustling bazaar kicked off by our opening parade with high-stepping bands, businesses and community groups followed by all-day music on center stage. View vendors with eye-teasing displays and taste delicious food. You’re invited to share in this age-old cultural tradition as we commemorate the hard work, vision and enduring spirit of the elders who founded Hayti over 100 years ago. Last year's festival drew over 12,000 festival goers of all ages and this year's festival promises to be even bigger and badder.
Phoenix Fest is fun, it’s free and it’s for the whole family. And it's handicapped accesible.Visit Phoenix Fest at www.phoenixfestdurham.com or contact Denise Hester at 919-680-2878.
