Description

The Second Annual Type I Pediatric Diabetes Symposium: Problems & Solutions Managing Type I Diabetes (T1D) in Children is a one-day symposium targeting RNs, RDs and CDEs as well as school nurses who care for children with type 1 diabetes. This program specializes, supports, and updates the management and care of children with T1D. The symposium content includes intensive management strategies, improving control in at-risk youth, management of complications, supporting developmental and cultural characteristics of patients with diabetes, and navigating healthcare for access to diabetes supplies. Application submitted for 6 CE hours thru American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE).


Keynote Speaker Bio:

Steve Ponder, MD, CDE, FAAP is a practicing pediatric endocrinologist for 30+ years and is the author of the book Sugar Surfing-How to Manage Type 1 in the Modern World. He was the 2018 AADE Diabetes Educator of the year. He created the concept of dynamic diabetes management and has lectured to medical professionals and type 1 patients and families for the last 6 years. He will speak on Dynamic Diabetes Management with CGM Technologies.
