Event description

Description

Contextual Handgun: The Armed Citizen/Public Encounters

An in-depth course designed around the problems associated around lethal-force encounters in public, Contextual Handgun: The Armed Citizen/Public Encounters discusses with students the hard/soft skills necessary to solve the commonly observed shooting problems associated with fighting in public locations. Are some of the most commonly held best practices for if we are attacked when we are alone actually going to put coworkers or bystanders at risk when they are present? Students will be shown WHY the context we find ourselves in with others present can change our tactics. This skill-intensive two-day course covers application of practical handgun skills in a public environment. Topics include, but are not limited to; types of attacks, avoidance skills, handgun terminal ballistics and the importance of accuracy, one-handed access/shooting skills, shooting past/around no-shoots, clearing bystanders/non-combatants from lines of fire, utilizing cover and concealment, 3-dimensional targeting, unconventional shooting positions, malfunction clearances and more, with the end result being students better capable of delivering fast, accurate, fight-ending fire on demand.

Class Cancellation Policy
The only way we can know that a class is full is when the specified number of students have registered and paid their tuition fees. Once a class is full, we have to turn away others who would like to attend. If you cancel too close to class, or fail to show up for class, you potentially keep someone else from attending and would cost us a student. Please be sure you can attend a class before signing up for it. In order to minimize this, we have strict policies on prepayment and cancellation.

To secure a slot in a course full payment is required unless otherwise specified.

• Cancellations by a student inside the thirty day window of when class will be held are non-refundable but creditable to another Citizens Defense Research class anywhere the student wishes to train, within 18 months of the cancellation.

• Cancellations by students the week of the course will be non-refundable and will receive no credit.

• Cancellations by Citizens Defense Research will be fully refunded within 14 calendar days.

We believe this policy is fair to you, to other students, and to us. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
