Phlebotomy Program at Carolinas College of Health Sciences

Program Overview

In this fast-paced 200-hour program you will spend five weeks in class and online learning the basics of collecting blood specimens by venipuncture and by skin puncture. You will have lectures on anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, safety and infection control and the procedures. After completing this portion of the class, you will move on to five weeks of clinical rotations.

At the end of the program, you will take a comprehensive examination and will be eligible to sit for a national certifying examination. The Phlebotomy program is approved by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).

Program Fast Facts:

  • Class: The first 5 weeks are in class and student lab. Meets Monday – Thursday from 8 am -12 noon.

  • Clinicals: 2nd five weeks are in clinical rotations in hospitals and doctors’ offices to gain experience. Meets average of 24-28 hours per week in a different clinical site each of the 5 weeks.

  • 2018 Course Fee: $ 625.00 (required books separate; Estimate cost of $130.00)

  • You will take a 12-minute assessment test and have your questions answered!

for JAN 2019 CLASS: Oct 17 at 4:00 pm; Oct 23 at 9:00 am; Oct 24 at 4:00 pm.
