We'll be exploring the changing landscape of doing good in your community and how you can make the biggest impact.
Dan Graham | CEO of BuildASign
Austin native Dan Graham serves as CEO of BuildASign, a three-time ABJ Fast 50 award winning and two-time INC 5000 company. Founded in 2005, the Austin-based company has been bootstrapped to great success, with 240 employees, $30 million in revenue and operations in the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Germany, having taken zero funding.
Through the BuildASign Gives program, the company has contributed more than $400,000 to over 400 local and national nonprofits. It has also received national recognition for its donation of more than 245,000 Welcome Home banners to friends and families of returning military, valuing $7.8 million.
Dan serves the Austin community in a variety of capacities including the Board of Directors of Austin Pro Bono; as a member of the Cities of Service Steering Committee for the City of Austin; Board of Directors Vice Chair of Small Business for Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce; and Chair for UT's Innovation & Science Enterprise Advisory Board.
Doug Ulman | President and CEO of LIVESTRONG
Doug is a three-time cancer survivor and globally recognized cancer advocate. After overcoming chondrosarcoma during his sophomore year of college and malignant melanoma twice since, Doug and his family founded the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting, educating and connecting young adults, their families and friends, who are affected by cancer.
Doug’s outstanding leadership has garnered him both local and national accolades. The Austin Business Journal recognized Doug with a Health Care Hero Award and he has twice been named to the Non-Profit Times’ Power and Influence Top 50, an honor bestowed to the top 50 nonprofit executives.
Doug currently holds numerous civic and charitable board positions for organizations such as the Union for International Cancer Control, the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults, the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids and C-Change.
Suzi Sosa | Executive Director of the Dell Social Innovation Challenge, Senior Fellow in Social Entrepreneurship at the RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service
Suzi leads the Dell Social Innovation Challenge and is responsible for stewardship of the vision and strategy of the program. Suzi is also the Associate Director of the RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service at the LBJ School of Public Affairs in The University of Texas at Austin. She is an Associate Adjunct Professor and teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses in Social Entrepreneurship.
Suzi has more than ten years of experience in social entrepreneurship in both the for-profit and non-profit worlds. She has a particular interest in innovation, design thinking, and organizational models of social enterprise. She is a Contributing Editor in social entrepreneurship for Inc magazine.
