Philadelphia Region Occupational Therapy Fieldwork Consortium (PRFC) presents:

22nd Annual Clinical Council Day

Thursday, March 17, 2016 Philadelphia Univeristy - Kanbar Campus Center

8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

This year we are excited and proud to have, as our Keynote speakers, Caryn Reichlin Johnson, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA, and Bridget Trivinia MS, OTR/L. The Keynote presentation will include information about when and why Fieldwork success plans (learning contracts) are needed. The positives and negatives of fieldwork success plans, how site specific learning objective relate to fieldwork success plans and how fieldwork success plans can relate to FW educator teaching style and student learning styles

Caryn Reichlin Johnson is an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and Associate Professor at Thomas Jefferson University, Department of Occupational Therapy, and has been an academic FW coordinator for over 20 years at both OT and OTA levels. She holds a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from Tufts University and a post professional Master’s degree from Thomas Jefferson University. She is co-editor of AOTA's Fieldwork Educator Certificate Program and co-author of The Occupational Therapy Exam Review Guide published by FA Davis. Her research and program development interests include developing opportunities for occupational therapy and emerging practice settings and utilizing the collaborative model in fieldwork education.

Bridget A. Trivinia, MS, OTR/L has worked in clinical care, program development and administration. Her clinical experience includes a variety of settings such as school based, acute rehab, skilled nursing, and home care services specializing in older adults. Additionally, she has developed volunteer, fieldwork and mentoring programs to facilitate the growth of the occupational therapy profession. In the past, Bridget served in the role as Fieldwork Educator Representative for the Commission on Education of the American Occupational Therapy Association. Bridget has presented at the state and national level on various topics including Advocacy, Fieldwork, Mentorship and Dementia.

We are also proud to present a new format. Attendees will have a choice to participate in one of four breakout sessions in the PM. Topics include Clinical Reasoning, Ethics in Fieldwork, OT/OTA Role Delineation and Giving and Receiving Feedback. Topics will be presented by our consortium members including Camille Sauerwald, Caryn Reichlin Johnson, Jeanne Coviello and Brianna Brim.
