Engage with the histories and cultures of local cooking and gardening alongside tastings of pepperpot soup, a dish long regarded as one of the city's most notable dishes. Enjoy a lively lecture on the origins of Philadelphia's culinary breadth with food historian Dr. William Woys Weaver, author of more than 15 books on topics ranging from edible folk art to heirloom vegetables.

Participants will also receive complimentary seeds for Philadelphia’s most historical culinary peppers from Dr. Weaver's extensive Roughweed Seed Collection.
