Event description

Description

Phi Beta Psi is a national sorority whose main goal is funding cancer research. To help with this cause, the Hobart chapter of Phi Beta Psi invites you to support the 19th annual “Footin’ for a Cancer Cure” 5K.

This year’s walk is in memory of Katrina Howard who lost a courageous battle with breast cancer on June

16, 2016. Katrina fought a tireless fight against her cancer with the loving support of her husband Rick,

children Thomas, Jeffery, Brian, Elizabeth, Kaitlyn and her mother Latcia.

The aim of our walk-a-thon is three fold: to honor those who lost their battle with cancer, to support

those in the midst of their fight, and to do our part in the fight against cancer by never giving up hope.

We are extremely proud that since our Walk-a-thon’s inception in 1999, we have raised over $357,000

for cancer research grants. This research is being used to save lives, help those battling cancer, and

empower all to fight back against the disease. Please join us in this fight against cancer.

Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. T-shirts available to the first 200 walkers with minimum pledges.

All participants are invited to enjoy a light breakfast refreshments.

Dedication is at 9:45 a.m. Walks begins at 10 a.m. Water will be provided.
