Description

THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT! If you would like to be placed on our waiting list please email: phasingoutprivateeducation@gmail.com.

The Fabian Society and the Socialist Education Association are very pleased to invite you to the first ever Phasing Out Private Schools event in Committee Room 8, Houses of Parliament, on Wednesday 12 June from 5-7pm. This event is kindly hosted by Kate Green MP (Stretford & Urmston).

In recent years, research has thrown an increasingly sharp light on the hugely negative impact that elitist, private schools have on equality of opportunity, economic inequality, community cohesion and representative democracy across the UK. This event will explore the political opportunities that exist to phase out private schools in coming years and to create an All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) to support the development of policies that support this endeavour.

The event’s speakers include some of the most well-known writers, academics, journalists and politicians advocating the phasing out of private schools across the UK.
