Description

Series Overview Google’s Applied Digital Skills curriculum is an online site with ready-to-use video lessons that teach digital skills that have immediate, real-life application. The majority of the lessons use apps found in Google Drive. In this three-part series, we will cover the basics of G Suite, focusing on why it is so useful for adult education. We will review five apps included in G Suite: Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms. We will explore the Google’s Applied Digital Skills lessons so that each participant can develop their own learning plan towards G Suite Certification, and discuss ways of doing the same with students.

This series is designed for people with little or no previous experience with Google Drive.

Sessions include:

  • Session 1: Google Drive and Google Docs 5/22/19
  • Session 2: Google Sheets and Google Slides 6/5/20
  • Session 3: Google Forms and Google Keep 6/19/20

Session 3 Google Forms and Google Keep In this session, we will briefly review Google Drive and then go in depth in how to create, share, and edit Google Forms and Google Keep. Google Forms is an app that allows the creation of forms, quizzes and surveys. It connects to Google Sheets. Google Keep is note taking app which allows for the insertion of images and checkboxes and collaborative documents. We will discuss how Google Forms and Google Keep can be used both for general productivity and as tools for instruction. All participants will log into their own Google Drive, make a folder for the sessions activities and make their own Google Forms quiz and use Google Keep to create a to do list.
