Tues Nov 24th 4-7: The Petaluma Holiday Food Fair is an indoor farmer’s market where folks can purchase directly from local food artisans to prepare for thanksgiving and beyond. It is free to attend, but tickets and reservations are required.
After the 2017 wildfires devastated Sonoma County, Lorraine & Michael Barber of the Barber Cellars winery noticed that many of the local artisans they supported in their tasting room were suffering from lack of business. At the height of harvest season, farmers markets were closed and sales were slim. They organized this event to get a much needed financial boost to local food producers. The event has become a vital start to the holiday season and is more important than ever this year due to business lost to our devastating fires (once again) and the pandemic.
There will be no sampling this year, and masks are to be worn at all times. Temperature check, hand sanitizing, and masks are required for entry. Temperatures will be taken at the door, and the number of people allowed in at one time is limited (like a grocery store.) Tickets are required and include a time preference (half hour increments) so there’s less of a wait.
