Event description

Description

“The CCC’s movies are chaotic, alcohol-fuelled and very funny indeed” - TIME OUT

Comedians Cinema Club has taken Los Angeles by storm and is now coming for Northern California as a part of the Pet-A-Llama Comedy Festival. It started as a monthly show and grew to run 6 times a month, with shows sold out weeks in advance.

What is it? A group of comedians get together on stage, some of them have a drink or four, and they re-enact your favorite movies live on stage, using the audience as directors, actors, props. It was voted top 10 best interactive shows at the Edinburgh Festival in the UK, and is now popping up all over the place, like Fight Club, but with a little less bleeding.

“In Indiana Jones, punters became elephants to ride the cast through India; in Jaws they were cast as the ocean, beach dwellers, underwater corpses and John Wiliams. In Pulp Fiction, one man who was chosen to chip in as Harvey Keitel took over the show, after it became apparent he knew every line of the film” - THE GUARDIAN

As word spreads about the show's success, reenactments have included The Princess Bride, Labyrinth, The NeverEnding Story and other childhood classic that CCC totally destroy on stage.

“What a silly idea, uproariously executed. A small cast of comedians improvise their way through a film they may only have half-remembered, or never seen at all. “ - CHORTLE
