Event Details

Pervasive Provocations: The State of Games in the UK, will interrogate key issues in Games Studies in the UK. You are encouraged to come along with a short provocation - a sentence, a quote, an image, a game - and engage in discussion about ways in which Games Studies in the UK can move forwards. Throughout the afternoon, pop-up speakers will provide short provocations to stimulate debate and discussion about the relationshp between Games Studies, the industry and research. We aim to discuss ways of moving forwards, avenues for debate, and to identify core areas in Games Studies at present.

Speakers include Greg Foster (Larking About), Dan Hett (BBC Children's Gaming), Prof Tanya Kryzwinska (University of Falmouth) and Thomas Rawlings (Bristol Games Hub). The afternoon will be followed by a launch party for the DiGRA UK chapter in the Watershed, which adjoins the Digital Cultures Research Centre.

The 'Pervasive Provocations' takes place as part of DiGRA UK. The event is open to all.

The event is free to attend but numbers are limited; please sign up below.
