Event description

Description

Perspectives from the Water is an exciting evening of travel this November.

Discover the winding rivers of Asia, hidden channels of Africa and expeditionary cruises across South America- all from the comfort of the beautiful Chandos House in central London.

Hosted by bespoke travel companies Experience Travel Group (Asia), Last Frontiers (Latin America) and Cedarberg Travel (Africa), this evening will celebrate our most memorable holiday experiences.

Tea, wine and nibbles (and Asian snacks!) will be served throughout the evening and our travel experts will be on hand to catch up with your adventures. Guests can attend travel talks from the head of each hosting company before an insightful panel discussion chaired by Liz Edwards, associate editor of the Sunday Times Travel magazine.

You can 'drop-in' at any time, though we'd encourage you to arrive no later than 6:30pm to ensure you do not miss a chance to chat to our consultants about your travel plans.

You'll also be entered into a draw with a chance to win fantastic travel prizes.

Order of Events

16.30-17.15:

Sam Clark: The Mighty Rivers of Asia

From the Ganges to the Mekong, the Irrawaddy and the Kinabatangan, these sacred waters bring life to Asia. We’ll follow the ancient water courses down river to the sea and discover what lies on the banks for the intrepid traveller to explore.

17.15- 18.00:

Ginny Russell: Dug-out canoes to luxury cruising: Africa’s hidden channels, mighty rivers and awesome oceans.

Ginny Russell of Cedarberg Africa shares some of the most remarkable wildlife spectacles to enjoy afloat, from the sardine run to fishing leopards

18.00- 18.45:

Edward Paine: Waterways of Latin America

Edward Paine of Latin America specialist Last Frontiers will describe the remote corners of the continent best explored by small expeditionary boat: the Antarctic peninsula; the glacier-fed fjords that stretch north from Tierra del Fuego to western Patagonia; the 'enchanting' Galapagos islands; and the wildlife-rich tributaries of the mighty Amazon.
