Event description

Description

Committing to God's Call (based on Esther 4:12-15)

Speaker Dr. Leah Gunning Francis is the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana and author of Ferguson and Faith: Sparking Leadership and Awakening Community

The story of Esther is one of commitment to God's call "for such a time as this". What is your church committed to? What are you committed to? As United Methodists, we are called and committed to be God's agents of social change. Discovering that call in the midst of challenging times and committing to be God's agents of transformation leads us to bear fruit that lasts.

Black Theologian Day is a time for the East Ohio Conference to hear from a Black theological perspective and to understand how commmities like Ferguson responded to turbulent and challenging times by committing to God's call.

Lunch is included in the price of a ticket.
