Personal to Global: Finance in the Real World

Practical participative activities for secondary schools.

Tips on bringing personal and global finance alive in the classroom 

Twilight session with refreshments

3.30 for coffee with a start at 4pm - 6pm

Session Presented by 

Anne Strachan, Development Education project

Has developed fun and participative activities to help students understand the world of finance including Money Trumps and an investment simulation.

She will introduce a new game on choices and consequences which is being developed with a grant from the MSE charity set up by Martin Lewis from  Money Saving Expert

Vernon Fuller, MoneyArt

An expert in personal finance Vernon will showcase how to use the music and drama to teach young people financial competence and confidence with an engaging and relevant approach.

St Margarets Centre was originally purchased as a piece of land by the wife of St Margarets Vicar in the late 1800's to 'beneift the children of the parish' of St Margarets. Since its early days the Trustees and parish members worked hard to deliver the vision and provide support where it's most needed.

We provide a space for people to come together and share learning experiences that enhance and empower their daily lives.                                                              

We offer the following programmes in Manchester:

  • Love Learning Programme: 
  • One World programme: One World bookshop stocking books on various awareness campaigns such as fair trade, child labour and environmental issues affecting developing countries.
