Bio - Sandra Johnson is a Mixed Media artist, Visual Arts teacher, Bookbinder living and working in Brisbane and Logan. Her work has been seen in several exhibitions over the last few years at the Logan Art gallery. These exhibitions have included books, mixed media arts, Altered books and Eco dying
Workshop description - Personal imagery is an attempt to help you develop your own style of ‘visual code’. You will create a series of marks that can be joined together to make larger and more detailed marks to use in your art work.
Take on a personal journey to a layered collage with mixed-media artist Sandra Johnson In simple and approachable steps; I will explain the process for creating personal imagery for printing and layering in collage, mostly using materials you already have!
An in-depth and innovative approach to mixed-media collage that uses a wide variety of mediums. Various techniques for base imagery that can be used to create stamps, stencils, for printing and to build out additional imagery
How to pull together paints that blend and combine to create stunning foundations for layers.
A focus on "personal imagery" and outside-the-box ideas of how to incorporate words, handwriting, and on-a-whim doodles into your pieces, this will encourage you to relax, play with paint, and relieve stress with this approach to collage that not only challenges the status-quo, but also encourages you to create images that are uniquely your own.
