Description

Thought LinkedIn was just for finding a job?

Today, 546 million entrepreneurs, executives, and working professionals are using LinkedIn to sell products and services, buy and sell businesses, form strategic partnerships, make meaningful connections, and yes, people still use LinkedIn to find jobs.

People are also using LinkedIn to build their personal brands and engage in thought leadership. Superstars like Arianna Huffington and Richard Branson have millions of followers on the network, but almost anyone can build an audience with tens of thousands of followers. That's enough to:

  • Sell thousands of copies of your book
  • Land paid speaking gigs
  • Get PR in top business publications

When you build a strong personal brand and engage in thought leadership you build influence, and through that influence you can make an impact, serve others, and build your career or business in the process. Forbes’ report The World’s Most Influential CMOs 2017 says influence is the new KPI:

Influence enables an effective CMO to win support for initiatives inside a company. Influence helps a CMO reach customers, impress shareholders, and deliver ever-stronger brand performance. Influence is how a CMO shapes the marketing conversation as a whole.

Of course you don't have to be a CMO to be influential–the same is true for other executives, entrepreneurs, and professionals. In addition to Branson and Huffington, think of Sheryl Sandberg, Bill Gates, and Mark Zuckerberg. You’ve seen the influence these entrepreneurs and executives have, and the attention it brings to them and their companies. Influence is power–the power to make the world a better place, and on LinkedIn there’s a formula for obtaining it.

On Tuesday, June 26th, join us for a free workshop, courtesy of Entrepreneur Launch Pad, the Miller Business Resource Center at SLCC, and Influencer Inc, on how to build your personal brand and thought leadership on LinkedIn. Josh Steimle, Founder of Influencer Inc, will share:

  • The four questions every thought leader must answer
  • How he wrote LinkedIn posts that were seen millions of times
  • The three-step process to become a thought leader on LinkedIn

Dinner will be provided. Pizza plus artisan churros from San Diablo!
