About this Event
Linden, TN — The celebration has begun in Perry County, Tennessee kicking off festivities culminating in a 200th birthday event in September 2019.
During the Blooming Arts Festival, town officials welcomed in the town’s bicentennial year.
Known for scenic beauty, Perry County has been discovered as a quaint gem that has developed an interesting history over the last two centuries.
To celebrate the history, organizers have diligently planned several bicentennial activities throughout the year, starting with the Blooming Arts Festival, the Main Street Music Summer concert series which take place on alternating weeks in Linden and Lobelville.
The actual celebration will take place on the weekend of September 20 and 21st. Events will include an Arts Festival, with over 100 vendors anticipated, folklore demonstrations, an old fashioned fiddlers contest, a county fair, and street artists reenacting period events.
“It is great that we can honor our county history,” said Linden Mayor Wess Ward who is pleased to host the event in his town, “and at the same time celebrate some of our local culture and beauty.”
