Permitting and Maintaining Your Rental Property: Part 2 (Afternoon Course)

An overview of the local codes that apply when renting 1 or 2 family homes and townhouses. Each of the Centre Region's participating municipalities have differing laws and regulations as it pertains to rentals. This program is designed to explain many of these differences and allow attendees to better understand the intent of these laws. Many of the topics covered will apply to all rental properties in the Centre Region, regardless of the municipality
Part 2: Technical
This session is the technical program that covers the ordinance and code requirements that apply to the interior and exterior of homes, townhouses, duplexes and homes with subordinate apartments. The target audience is property owners and managers, real estate agents, maintenance supervisors and staff and general contractors.
Each session is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours long and will be offered two times each day.

The general administration staff also includes the Assistant Borough Manager, Human Resources Director, Purchasing/Risk Management Director, Neighborhood Services Coordinator, Communications and Grants Coordinator, and two Staff Assistants. The general administration staff is charged to provide support for all Borough operating departments and general management of the day-to-day operations.
The Borough's operating departments include Finance, Information Technology, Ordinance Enforcement & Public Health, Parking, Police, Planning & Community Development, Public Works, and Tax.
State College residents also receive services from the Centre Region Council of Governments, which oversees building code enforcement, library services, parks and recreation services, and regional planning; as well as Alpha Fire Company, Centre Area Transportation Authority, Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority, State College Water Authority, and University Area Joint Authority.
