Event description
Want to learn how to help your foster youth living in congregate care find a permanent and positive family-like home?

About this Event

Do you have questions about child specific recruitment? Want to learn how to support a positive and sustainable placement for your foster youth? Join VOICES with Lauren Zanotti, BSW and Minnie Mora-Medina, MEd from the Arizona Department of Child Safety’s Fostering Sustainable Connections Program in learning ways to engage children living in congregate care (such as group homes and residential treatment facilities) by identifying connections and supportive relationships in their life. This training seeks to support CASA volunteers in recognizing family-like settings or permanent placement options for youth in congregate care based off of positive past and present connections. The program’s framework is the Family Finding Model created by Kevin Campbell which supports working closely with the youth themselves, their family, relatives, and any life-long supportive network for the youth to ensure a variety of services and supports are available to help them and those caring for them. Bring your questions about getting your foster youth placed in a permanent home!

*Note: this training was previously held at VOICES on September 19, 2019
