In this seminar, Dr Angus MacBeth, Lecturer in Clinical Psychology and Honorary Principal Clinical Psychologist will discuss new developments in perinatal mental health research. He will explore how maternal mental health during pregnancy and the first 12 months after birth provides a window of opportunity for identifying risk and resilience factors relevant to the health of mothers, their partners and infants. Using evidence from contemporary research he will explore how we can improve our understanding of perinatal mental health, particularly in the context of existing complex mental health issues.
