Event description

Description

Instructors: Laura Allcorn + Traci Sym

Nearly every interaction is a choreography between a performer and an audience. Throughout each day, we vacillate between these two roles. Sometimes our counterpart is played by a mobile app, sometimes by another human. These interactions are staged by the world around us and some are more thoughtfully designed than others. In this workshop, you’ll participate in a series of performance exercises to explore common user-experience obstacles, obstructions to empathic design and design ethics, and the relationship between performer and audience. After each exercise, we’ll cool down with a discussion of what they made us feel and think about when we ourselves design for users.

Who should come? Interaction or Experience Designers, Architects, Engineers, and Developers

We have a limited number of scholarships for our workshops. If you need an application, please send an email to mtc@pnca.edu with your complete name and contact information.

If you need academic credits for the workshops, please contact mtc@pca.edu.
