Description

This training event is organised as part of a European Funded project called Performaction performing arts for education and training (www.performaction.live).

The aim of the project is to develop and share among partner organisations new methodologies for teaching using performing arts, especially to disadvantages groups such as people with learning difficulties (DSA), or people at risk of social exclusion.

Trainers in this training will be experienced performers and theatre practitioners from different countries (Italy, Germany, Spain and Estonia).

This is a 5-day event with the core of the training taking place on 6-7 and 8 February.

A provisional schedule of training is as follows:

Day 1: Arrival of participants and introductory meeting

Day 2: (approximately 6 hours) - training on the body (recognizing it, knowing how to guide it in space), structuring danced moments, working on the yogic breath and the release technique, working together with others creating moments of sharing through listening, contact and partnering, first moments improvisation and composition that have as key elements those of Pina Baush's Tanztheater;

Day 3: (approximately 6 hours) - training on the body, development of moments of creation based on real improvisation, experimentation of the theme, use of all the tools made available at the beginning of the workshop.

Day 4: (approximately 6 hours) - training on the body and training on the complete creation of the performance through the acquisition of the structure within which to move freely after having learned the techniques in the previous days.

The event may also include the following activities:

- Introduction on DSA learning difficulties by a psychologist working in the field

- Training on theatre techniques for using in educational settings

- Training on the use of video making for involving young people at risk of social exclusion

This event will be open to: theatre practitioners, performing artists, teachers, educators, people working with people with learning difficulties, etc.

There are 3 places avaialable. Participation in the events is free. The leading organisation Sirius Training will be able to cover the costs of travel and subsistence for people living at least 100km from London.
