About this event

As part of our change-makers programme, Savannah Brown will be performing with Syd Wilmot. The event will begin with a live musical performance. Savannah’s books will be available for sale afterwards.


Savannah Brown is a poet and novelist born in Ohio and living in London. She’s the author of two young adult novels published with Penguin Random House UK and two poetry collections, Graffiti and Sweetdark, which were both finalists in the Goodreads Choice Awards. Her spoken word work has amassed tens of millions of views online.

Syd Wilmot is a poet from Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. They placed second in the Roundhouse Slam 2020, and performed as part of the Sheffield team at Unislam. They have read at Sheffield events including Tramlines, Verse Matters and Off the Shelf Festival of Words, and they recently took part in the Apples and Snakes Writing Room. They are currently working on their first pamphlet.


Most of our events are free, but this is one of six where you will need to buy a ticket. There are four options for this*:

Festival Pass: £25 for all six events. (LIMITED AVAILABILITY)

General Admission: £5 per event

Concession: £4 per event. Available for carers, students, and under 18s. Be prepared to show evidence of applicability.

Virtual Access: £4 per event. We will email you a zoom link to watch the performance before the event.
