Performance & Recording Techniques Workshop with Eklipse
Overview
The Newham Poetry Prize is launching an exciting phase of its programme with a full day of creative workshops on Saturday 24 January 2026, taking place at the University of East London’s Docklands Campus. The workshops will be facilitated by Newham Poetry Prize founder Be Manzini alongside award-winning local music makers Eklipse and Shadé Joseph, offering a rare opportunity for participants to develop their craft with leading creatives from the borough.The day is designed to support residents prepare submissions for BASS (Barz And Stanzas Soundscaped), a new archive that will set selected poems and lyrics to original music. To take part, entrants must work, study or live in Newham and be 18 or over. BASS aims to celebrate the borough’s diverse voices, preserve its stories, and platform local creative talent. Entries close on 31 January 2026.
Performance & Recording Techniques Workshop with Eklipse:
Join lyricist and genre-hopping music maker Eklipse for a dynamic workshop focused on performance techniques and the recording process. In this session, Eklipse will share insights into developing a powerful stage presence, demonstrate practical approaches to recording, and provide guidance to help you refine your own creative practice.Expect an energising space to learn, experiment, and deepen your craft.
