Event description

Description

To launch an exciting new partnership between Concerteenies and Folk Forest, we are thrilled to host a special live music event at the Millennium Gallery especially designed for 0 - 3 year olds and their grown-ups.

1.30-2.15pm is specifically for 0-1 year olds/ non-movers

2.45pm - 3.30pm for 1 and 2 year olds (siblings welcome)

Adults must be accompanied by a child and children must be accompanied by adults at all times.

Silver Strings quartet performs music that will get you and your little ones toes tapping including an Argentinian tango, a Tchaikovsky March, a Strauss waltz, an Irish jig and a Bach Minuet. With informal introductions to the music, bubbles, percussion and props, this is a fun and engaging concert for adults and their young children.

Members of Silver Strings are all highly accomplished players in their own right, playing with BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Opera North and Northern Ballet. They have toured throughout the UK: from Glastonbury Festival to the major classical concert halls as well as recitals in Europe, Russia, Africa, North America and even the Arctic. They've appeared in numerous TV and radio programmes and have performed live with many well known acts including The Charlatans, Thea Gilmore, Smokey Robinson, Richard Hawley, Il Divo, Alfie Boe, Russell Watson and Liam Gallagher.

Parents are welcome to breastfeed and there are nappy changing facilities on site. The Gallery Café will be open before and after the concerts selling a range of hot and cold beverages and food.

£7 per adult, £12 for 2 adults (children free)
