Perfectly Imperfect: Re-writing Our Stories With Compassion
Friday & Saturday, March 3 & 4, 9:30am-4:30pm
Facilitated by Thomas Roberts, LCSW, LMFT
Progress in our spiritual journey is not about achieving perfection. Rather it invites us to inquire openly and with compassion about finding how the divine expresses in our every day lives. We often miss opportunities to deepen our spiritual growth by ignoring how our imperfections are actually the grist for the mill.
So many of us struggle with this idea of not feeling good enough, holding ourselves hostage to our past mistakes and regrets, thus hindering our personal and spiritual growth. By embracing our imperfections, we free ourselves from fears, doubts and self-doubt. Spiritual progress occurs only when we soften our self-aversion to our imperfections and begin to accept and relate wisely with deep compassion to what we judge to be imperfect.
During this retreat, we will explore the stories we have developed that keep us from relating to our imperfections with patience and compassion. We will seek to discover Divine strength in the dark and difficult places through a creative process of re-writing our stories to more accurately reflect our true and Divine selves. To help craft your new story, you are invited to bring a journal, notebook, art supplies or a meaningful poem, photograph or song. This retreat is for anyone who is on a journeying path - anyone who is interested in finding out and clearing obstacles to their own truth.
Box lunch included. Optional Liturgy at 8:30am in Our Lady of the Angels Chapel.
$150 registration by February 16 ($175 after 2/16/17) | This is a multi-date event.
