Holly Alonzo

June 5, 2019, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Holly Alonzo, Executive Director of Peralta Hacienda Historical Park will lead our tour of this historic site. Peralta Hacienda is the birth place of Oakland and portions of Berkeley and San Leandro. It was the site of the first non-indigenous house built in 1820. The original adobe building has been interpreted and the extant 1868 Victorian-style Peralta home has been fully restored. The historic home is filled with permanent and changing exhibits. Each room has a different character. In the kitchen displays feature food through time. Other rooms focus on the Rancho and Mission periods and one room tells the post Gold Rush story.

The park is located at 2465 34th Avenue (at the corner of Coolidge Avenue and Hyde Street) in Oakland. Please plan to arrive a few minutes before the 2:30 tour start time. The tour will include the site and house.

NOTE: There is a $5 per person donation to Peralta Hacienda. http://www.peraltahacienda.org

Attendees will make their own transportation arrangements. The week before the trip a list of attendee will be sent to you to see if you would like to plan on a carpool.  Here are directions  for the BUS, BART and  driving by car
