Event description
Join this forum with two former Wisconsin State legislators highlighting issues faced in 2020 (includes Q&A)

About this Event

Every 10 years, the U.S. census updates the national population count for the purpose of apportioning the number of state seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and also apportioning federal funds to states, counties, and communities. The results of the 2020 census for Wisconsin will prompt review and redrawing of election maps (redistricting), as in every other state.

This forum is an educational opportunity for Wisconsin voters to learn about the process for redrawing state election maps every 10 years. Attendees will be encouraged to register to vote and express informed opinions about the redistricting process to their legislators. The presenters, both former WI State legislators, will explain the process of re-drawing election maps every 10 years after a national census; the impact and cost of this redistricting process; gerrymandering; and proposed alternatives for drawing election maps to decrease partisan bias. There will be time for questions from the audience. The forum is free and open to the public.

Presentation: Oct 1st 6:15-7:45 pm

Registration begins at 5:45 pm
