Performances by ten outstanding writers of colour to mark the first gallery in the Museum of Colour

About this Event

The Museum of Colour is a digital museum focussed on the impact and lives of creatives of colour for 250 years of British history from 1766 - 2016. People of Letters is the first gallery.

Ten leading writers and composer and musician Randolph Matthews offer their personal take on a chosen object from the Pitt Rivers Collections.

From Ted Hughes Prize winning poet Jay Bernard and innovative playwright and poet Naomi Sumner Chan, to acclaimed actor and playwright Tayo Aluko; from writer, historian and broadcaster Colin Grant, and Forward Prize winners Daljit Nagra and Kei Miller to Booker Prize Shortlist Nominee Bernardine Evaristo; from the acclaimed poets Degna Stone and Will Harris to the winner of the prestigious Guyana Prize ( poet ) Grace Nichols.

Offering performances and presentations of poetry and prose, a brand new composition by Randolph Matthews, and curation by Melanie Abrahams, come and experience a glittering and exciting range of voices and sensibilities and join us on this special occasion.

Doors open at 6:30pm for a 7pm start.
