Mission

People of Color Healing Retreat was created to provide a space of nurturing, learning and healing. We welcome all People of Color who desire spiritual growth and self-love. This is a space for all bodies, all sexual orientations and all levels of spiritual practice.

Offering

We assembled an amazing lineup of teachers, leaders, healers, dreamers, artists and entrepreneurs to lead yoga classes, dance classes and information workshops. A vegan (Dr.Sebi approved) lunch, prepared by Two Mamacitas Pop-Up Kitchen, is included in the cost of the day-long retreat.

Workshop and Class Descriptions

In this workshop you will lean how to use the tool of nature and sacred object used to cleanse a space, person or thing. You will learn how to protect your house, car, children and self. There will be a live demo of cleansing oneself so that you dispel others energies, refresh after work or how to clean after any type of trauma.

Egyptian Yoga, Postures of the Gods and Goddesses is the Ancient Egyptian System of the Physical Postures for Health, Meditation and Spiritual Enlightenment and the Ancient Egyptian Origins of Hatha Yoga. This class is for All Levels, postures are modified for each practitioner.

This session will delve into the love you have, the love you need, and the love you give. We will explore the types of love we need for a full and happy life. What is effective, healthy transfer of love in relationships. Who and what are your love drains. How do you get the love you need. This workshop will cover romantic love, self love, community love action and more

Haitian Folkloric Dance, with Portsha T, Jefferson, Founder and Artistic Director of Rara Tou Limen. Divine Mystery. Mistè. Meditation in Movement. Dance is our route to find our personal truth. Our route to self-discovery. The Spiritual Power of Dance has transformed, healed and shaped each of our lives. We are artistic vessels, mediums and community servants, embodying Spirit - our life force, the person inside of us, the part of us that never dies, that is eternal, infinite and limitless.

The unresolved legacy of Inter-Generational trauma is the foundation for the abysmal status of health in the black community. This workshop assist women in understanding trauma as a systemic force influencing their ways of being and health. It will also include tools one can utilize to eliminate the cycle of oppression on the multiple dimensions of the spirit.

Main Dish: Quinoa Noodles with Pesto (raw and made from Basil, Hemp Seeds, Shallots, Olive Oil, Lime Juice and Sea Salt) topped with Sauteed Portabello Mushrooms

Side Salad: Cherry Tomatoes, Cucumber, Olives, Red Onion, Shredded Tarragon, Olive Oil and Sea Salt

Drink: Ginger Mango Limeade sweetened with Agave

Chickpea Tofu

Main Dish: Chickpea Tofu (chickpea flour, ginger, habanero chiles, sea salt, lime juice) and Kabocha Squash in a Coconut Ginger Culantro African Bird Eye Chile sauce served on a bed of Quinoa

Side Salad: Baby Kale or Red Kale Cucumber Bell Pepper, Sesame Seeds, Grated Ginger, Sesame Oil, Lime Juice

Drink: Tamarind Juice Sweetened with Date Sugar

Injera Wraps

Main Dish: Injera Wraps with Avocado,, Quinoa, Tahini, Romaine Lettuce, Red Onion, Grilled Sweet Peppers and Portobello Mushrooms

Side Salad: Baby Kale, Slivered Dates, Walnuts, Shredded Chayote, Papaya Lime Dressing

Drink: Tamarind Mango Limeade

FAQs

How do I make my lunch and workshop reservation?

When you pay for retreat, a form will be emailed to you. Please return and a confirmation will be emailed.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Arm babies are welcome. Please no toddlers, childcare is not provided.

$60 for 8 to 17 year olds. ID MUST be provided at door. If ID is not provided, participant will be requested to pay full price at time of purchase.

What can I bring into the event?

Please bring your mat, blanket or towel for Yoga class. (If you are taking yoga class) Dress in layers. --There are no lockers or storage area at the event, you are responsible for your belongings. Bring a refillable water bottle. Water and snacks are encouraged. There will be a water and snack vendor, if you want to purchase.
