People Need People sessions - a mini series of "meals without a menu"
Overview
YOUR ARE INVITED
to a mini-series of People Need People sessions
Oct 22, Nov 12, and Dec 3 from 12–2pm ET / 16:00–18:00 UTC
Would you like to gather and join us for a meal without a menu? There are no recipes to Warm Data, no steps to follow. Warm Data is a practice, and this is a wholehearted invitation to practice with us this autumn. We have grown since last spring, we are becoming food, sweet and savoury and crunchy and bitter and sour, and even unpredictable at times, a feast nevertheless. Come and join us in this series of three online Warm Data Labs. The more you practice the more you will be ready-ing yourself and become food too.
For those of you who have joined us before, you know we will love to have you back, for those of you who are new to this practice, here is a bite as introduction...
As Nora Bateson (originator of Warm Data) says, we cannot help but wonder “How do we think our way through the messes we’re in, when the way we think is part of the mess?” We are in interesting times. Ecological upheaval and regeneration; the exponential development of AI within the values and parameters of modernity, while at the same time opening questions about our humanity; re-membering our kinship with the land while re- examining gender, race and identity, not as boundaries but as place for encounter. What do we need to learn if we don’t know where we are going? Lost, after all, might be a real place where to linger.
People Need People sessions are a cauldron for intergenerational mutual learning - a form of inquiry to notice the interstices, the spaces in-between that form the complexity of life, a way to acknowledge and stay open to the possibilities of others’ perspectives. The experiences in these sessions have been described as a “kaleidoscope of conversation”, packed with enriching stories, laughter, and insight - like the best after-dinner conversations you have ever had, with people you may have never met. Participants share their stories and observations about a common question, moving between small groups to explore the day’s topic from different contexts such as family, health, economy, and more.
They nourish the body as much as the soul, transform the way we approach work, life, and learning, and ultimately, hold space for new learning, relationships and connections.
If you are curious and want to explore Warm Data in this online format, please register and join us.
The sessions will be different and connected, so it would be good to attend all three, but you are also very welcome if you can only attend one or two.
Please also note that the sessions won’t be recorded and we will not admit AI note-taking companions, since we are practicing what matters is the experience of being present. We would happily welcome you to bring others with you, or pass this invitation on to those who you think might be curious about it!
